Simone Corsi Declarations

`I still feel pretty sad about missing out on the title to be honest´, admits the Roman rider. `I mean overall things were good, I won four races, I got seven podiums, but the aim was to get the title. Anyway, it was the best campaign of my career and I see it as something that puts me in a great position for next year.´

`There were offers from both Aprilia and Honda to go up, but I preferred to stay with Sito Pons. I´m happy to be staying put, especially with the same team, and I want to achieve what I missed out on this year.´

`I would like to go up to 250cc as World Champion and if I had won the 125 title this year I´m sure I´d have made the move up. Now I need to focus on doing a good job in 2009´

`(Mike) Di Meglio and (Gabor) Talmacsi have been promoted to the 250cc bikes, but there are still a lot of good riders in 125, starting with my teammate (Nico Terol), who will have an official RSA. (Julian) Simon is another one, he was riding well in Valencia last week. Anyway, I just have to concentrate on myself and getting the best out of the package that I´ll have.´

Simone Corsi closed the 125cc season with a victory

Simone Corsi closed the 125cc season with a fourth victory of the year and finish second in the World Championship.

Simone Corsi declarations:
"It was a great battle, and I had a lot of fun fighting with Di Meglio; he´s the World Champion, so it´s always fun. I´m very happy to take the win in the last race of the year, and to have achieved second in the classification. The one-two is also great for the team. When Mike made a mistake on the penultimate lap I was able to take advantage."
